Get my books for free with the Libby App

Aren’t libraries the best?

If there is such a thing as a library evangelist, I am it.

Libraries have formed the backbone of my reading and writing life. When I was younger, I would spend afternoons with my grandmothers at the library, browsing the stacks for new reads, and just generally feeling delighted at the fact that an ordinary person could access books FOR FREE whenever they needed them. As I’ve grown from a young lover of books to a (slightly) older one, my love for libraries has only grown with me.

Libraries got better with Libby

Last year I discovered the miracle that is the Libby App, which now allows you to access your library’s collection of e-books and audibooks, FOR FREE.

I have opened up a whole new world for myself of e-reading and audiobook listening that has changed my life. I have been awed by what I’ve been able to access simply because I’m a member of the Cape Town Library System. It’s been a blast.

Get my books for free on Libby

I would be so thrilled if you could all access my books on Libby so I reached out to my publishers to find out how it all works. It turns out that readers need to request that their library stocks a particular e-book. Some of mine are already available in certain libraries, and others are not.

So, this post is a suggestion to you, dear reader, to click on the links below to request that your local library stocks my titles.

You’ll need to have the Libby App open, then click these links or search for my books and say to your library ‘notify me’.

While you wait for my books to be added, what should you read?

Some of the titles I’ve loved so far this year include

  • Claire Kilroy, Soldier Sailor
  • Alistair McKay, The Child
  • Roxanne Atkinson, The Unicorn Baby
  • Ann Patchett, Tom Lake
  • Naomi Alderman, The Future
  • Rebbeca F Kuang, Yellowface
  • Tamara Ellis Smith, Grief is an Elephant

Hope you enjoy the app as much as I have!
