I’m thrilled to announce that next year I’ll be running a ‘Start Your Book’ course online and in person in Cape Town. Spots are limited to 10 people per group!

Who is this course for?

This course is for you if:

• You have an idea for a book-length project
• You are willing to commit to writing regularly for about three months to get that book-length project off the ground
• You need both a carrot and a stick to sit down and get writing
• You value community as part of the creative writing process
• You’d like to receive regular constructive and supportive feedback on your writing
• You’d like to dedicate some time to learning about writing craft along the way

What does this course include?

The course will run for just over three months. During that time you will get the following support:

• Three months of free access to all the Write With Jen Thorpe Substack content (including publisher talks)
• Four meet ups with me and your writing cohort which will include guided writing exercises to force you to sit down and get words on the page, as well as some general community building amongst writers
• Six opportunities to submit up to 10 000 words to me for in-text feedback
• Three online craft talks, with topics curated by you and your writing cohort
• An hour-long one-on-one chat with me towards the end of the course to talk about your project and where to from here
• A party at the end of the course to celebrate your achievements.

How much will it cost?

The course is priced at R14 000 per person.

Preferred payment is up front, however should this not be possible we can discuss payment terms.
