Read Women Write – Every day!

In 2014 I decided to read only African women writers from September 2014 to August 2015. This was truly one of the most exciting projects I’ve ever embarked on and I must admit that in the year since I’ve stopped the project I’ve hardly read anything else. Reading African women writers meant reading about experiences I could relate to, and more importantly (because let’s be honest, it’s really not about me) it meant reading female protagonists that were realistic and honest. I loved it.

I’m going to be recommitting to this project, and for this reason I’m going to be reposting some of the old pieces here, and beginning the new project starting September 1st 2016. So in the next few days you can expect to be bombarded with at least five book reviews a day – which I’m sure you’ll be delighted about. If you want to read them all in one go, you can do that here. And if you’re interested in reading some stories written by women for the My First Time project, you can do that here.

If you’re an African women writer and you’d like me to read and review your book, get in touch! I’d freaking love to.
